Art historian Claudia Aigner once described Evelyn Loschy as a “master of ambivalence” in the Wiener Zeitung. In her solo exhibition at KUKO, the artist places ambivalence at the center, exploring its many layered forms.
Loschy’s works unfold in the tension between attraction and repulsion, closeness and distance, as well as care and aggression. Opposing forces meet without canceling each other out. Ambivalence becomes something you can experience—a state in which contradictions exist at the same time, creating a tension that is both delicate and intense.
Rather than a flaw or inconsistency, ambivalence emerges as a productive space of experience—one that reshapes how we perceive relationships, intimacy, and power.
