On Sunday, November 5th, 2023 the group exhibition “konform_NON_konform” at the Städtische Galerie Nordhorn will come to an end. For this occasion, Veronika Merklein was invited and will present her brand new performance “Fat Shirtology”, a moderated and absurd catwalk situation. The shown cross-section of so-called molly-fashion of the last decades illustrates how identity is shaped willfully from the outside and how hold-out slogans and merchandise are staged via clothing. The audience gets sexy winks for free on top. The performance is based on the piece “Shirtologie” (1997) by the French choreographer Jérôme Bel. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to talk and join the last tour with gallery director Thomas Niemeyer.
