The boundaries between object, plastic, and sculpture are fluid – and it is exactly in this threshold that the exhibition takes its starting point. While the object is often understood as a found object or a conceptual statement, plastic is characterized by an additive process. Sculpture, on the other hand, is usually created through subtractive manipulation of the material. What happens when these categories overlap?
The exhibition brings together contemporary artistic positions that engage with form, material, and space. The works presented investigate key aspects of plastic creation, expanding upon classical definitions.
Materiality, volume, surface, and context are the focal points. Some works are changeable, feature functional elements, or are movable. Together, they invite viewers to reconsider the concept of sculpture in a broader sense – as an open field between object, plastic, and sculptural form.
