In this show Textures of Time: Rocks & Dust different forms of artistic expression, such as sculpture, drawing, photography, performance and video, merge to explore the multifaceted dimension of time.

The omnipresent role of stones in our culture serves as a starting point for intellectual speculation, exploring in depth various aspects such as tools, architecture, philosophy and theology. The stones, as prototypical non-human elements, are seen as metaphorical anchors in this exhibition. They stimulate questions about our own existence and the connection between culture and nature.

The exhibited sculptures by Patrick Baumüller and Giovanni Morbin look like fossilized chronicles and tell stories of past eras and forgotten times. Through the skillful use of different materials, the rough texture of time becomes tangible. The drawings / paintigs by Laura Fitzgerald and Viktors Svikis capture the fleeting moments of existence. They create connections between past and present, between reality and fantasy, and make us reflect on the fragility of time. The photographs by Sandro Dukić, Veronika Merklein, Evelyn Loschy, Man Ray and Marko Zink provide a glimpse of past performative moments that have been captured forever. The photographs serve as a window to past eras and remind us how the world has changed over time.

Textures of Time: Rocks & Dust is a journey through the different layers of time. The artists invite visitors to reflect on their own relationship to time and explore the complexity of this abstract concept.
