Emotions and feelings form the thematic core of this year’s presentation by galerie michaela stock.

Artists:
Jean Arp, Ivica Capan, Ingrid Cogne, Sonia Delaunay, Robert Indiana, Parsa Khalili, Evelyn Loschy, Man Ray, Carol Rama, Karin Pliem, Viktors Svikis, Marko Zink

In the field of tension between inner states and social expectations, the exhibition Feelings are Facts is dedicated to artistic positions that make emotional states visible – directly, quietly, poetically, or radically.

The presentation focuses on making emotions visible in art. In a present in which feelings are often regarded as a weakness and emotionality is being pushed out of the public sphere, the exhibition takes a deliberate stand: feelings as resistance.

The curatorial concept places established figures such as Carol Rama, Sonia Delaunay, Jean Arp, Man Ray, and Robert Indiana in a dynamic dialogue with contemporary artists including Marko Zink, Viktors Svikis, Evelyn Loschy, Karin Pliem, Parsa Khalili, Ivica Capan, and Ingrid Cogne.

The works on view – ranging from painting and photography to performance and graphic art – address central questions: How can emotions be expressed today? How political are emotions? And how is the perception of intimacy changing in the digital age?

The exhibition invites reflection on inner states – beyond pathos and spectacle.
