11th Triennial of Contemporary Art in Ottignies–Louvain-la-Neuve
Through a journey featuring around sixty Belgian and international artists, the Triennial presents contemporary works that are surprising, critical, playful, participatory, or biting.
Contemporary art steps out of galleries to take over unusual venues — storefronts, abandoned swimming pools, sports facilities, and administrative buildings — in the heart of the city as well as in natural surroundings.
This edition explores, with humor and subtlety, the concept of public space in both its physical and intangible dimensions. The artists examine the ties that connect us, the tensions that divide us, and the values we may (or may not) share. Inclusion, sustainability, diversity, social justice… these are just some of the themes explored through artistic proposals that provoke thought and invite collective reflection.
Curator of the Triennial: Emmanuel Lambion
Emmanuel Lambion describes himself as a Brussels-based art worker, operating at the intersection of curation, art criticism, and artistic production. With over 25 years of experience and around 129 exhibitions and artistic projects designed for public spaces, he has also held institutional leadership and curatorial roles at the Centre de la Gravure et de l’Image imprimée in La Louvière, at ARBA–ESA (the Royal Academy of Fine Arts), and at Botanique in Brussels. In 2008, he founded Bn PROJECTS, an independent curatorial platform, building on his earlier involvement with Komplot. Through Bn PROJECTS, he developed and structured public space projects such as PARK58, B-1010, and be DIX_TIEN, as well as programming for Maison Grégoire, the second-oldest artist-run space in Brussels.
Since 2024, his curatorial base has been located at KXX / Überchannel, on the 20th floor of a 1970s modernist tower — offering an unmatched view over Brussels and the future KANAL museum.
Opening hours: Thursday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Free admission: All venues are open to the public free of charge.
