This year's special program Living Image ventures into the worlds of music and augmented reality: artists who write and produce music or play in bands and at concerts present their musical performances in the form of short video clips. The program was organized in cooperation with the current mumok exhibition Doppelleben. Bildende Künstler_innen machen Musik [Double Lives. Visual Artists Making Music]. Living Image is curated by Daniela Hahn.

The Voice 99
video, 2012, (Marko Marković, Željka Blakšić, Kolja Gjoni), 4,51 min
Performance, Production ISCP/ International Studio & Curatorial Program, New York

The Voice 99%, i.e., the video work 99 was created in the aftermath of the protest movement Occupy Wall Street and mass protests following the murder of the young African American Martin Trayvon, which was committed by a white police officer (2012). The art-punk band consisting of Marković, Željka Blakšić and Kolja Gjoni have set to music the maxim of the public demonstration, We Are All Like One, which they perform using sign language, as an artistic gesture of rebellion against racism and violence, gesture that mirrors reciprocity of violence and social practice of playing deaf.

Instead of vocal, the voice is used and performed on the sign language for the deaf people with one sentence in repetition "We Are All Like One" This sentence refers to the class differences and position of the people with superior and inferior status in the society. It is the observation and reaction to power relations among different cultures and it questions the idea of nationalism and identity. The composition is played in punk rock spirit as the rebellious statement during the "99%" riots in New York in 2012. (We are the 99% is a political slogan widely used and coined by the Occupy movement)
