WHERE: Stadtgalerie Lehen, Salzburg

With this double exhibition at two neighboring locations, the Stadtgalerie Lehen and the FOTOHOF jointly celebrate the 40th anniversary of this significant institution for contemporary photographic art.
In two parts, this exhibition collaboration delves into the history of the FOTOHOF gallery, as well as its broad and international exhibition history. The exhibition at FOTOHOF takes an inward look at the development of the institution and artifacts of the gallery's operation. In the Stadtgalerie Lehen, the view falls outward, on artistic positions from over forty years of exhibition history.
All artists from the FOTOHOF exhibitions of the last 40 years were invited to participate with recent work that could be realized in the form of a projection.

Over 160 participants provided their work. This "visual overload" of a projection on five screens is part of the concept and alludes to the consumption of images in contemporary net culture. As a counterbalance, an alphabetically arranged, analog "score" of the projection is laid out on a desk in the exhibition, in which all the works shown can be looked up. In the annex, a comfortable reading corner with books by all participating artists decelerates the pace of the exhibition.

Marko Zink shows photographs from the series "swimmer" as well as "Burka".
